My writing routine usually begins with a more or less run of the Internet while I let out my two Cockatiels to play. They are named Baby Bay and Angel Light.
Baby Baby is over a hundred years old in human years and heading well into the second century of his life. I rescued him from an abusive father who was going to kill him. I hand fed him and kept him with me under my shirt when I shopped until he was strong enough and grown up enough to be able to be on his own.
Oh, did I mention he was only a few days old when I rescued him?
Today I'm going to Sam's Club for a groceries and then back to the pen and ink again. Or in my case keyboard and computer screen. I'm working on my Professor Moriarity series. I've published about four stories featuring Professor Moriarity, but now I'm tying them all together into a novel. I'm close to two hundred pages on what would have been a little over a hundred to begin with. I've added a lot of new material and action scenes to give more depth to the characters.
Now, you're probably thinking, why in the world would he waste all that time on the villain? Right?
Well, in my stories, he's not the villain. He's the hero.
Because my Moriarity does not go by Professor, but by James. In my stories he's just a young man taken from an alternate England where Sherlock Holmes does not exist into one where Holmes once lived, but was hideously murdered by Professor Moriarity.
James is brought across dimensions into the alternate England where he will lead a team of crack heroes in the cause of Merry Old Queen of Scots, the current ruler of England in that world.
I'll let you know more as I get closer to finishing the story.
Oh, and Jams is not cold hearted. He is forced to leave behind the woman he loves and that is something he must live with every day. And yes, Watson is here and in love. Wait until you see with whom.
