Incident of Magnetic Silence
Samuel Light was tall, over six feet with sandy brown hair, more blonde than brown in the summer when the light bleached it. Lean in appearance, but built tight from regular exercise and yoga postures, he was very flexible, sharp and alert.
In some ways he reminded Jimbo, who was quite the opposite in appearance, of one of the legendary gods of Rome and Greece. Maybe Adonis?
Surely his smile assured him the lead role of playing Apollo the Sun God because it was so ready on his lips and in the way he spoke. Never a negative comment, or attitude.
See something needed doing.
See something wrong.
Try to fix it.
Something bad about to fall.
Catch it and make it right.
The Eternal Optimist and the best friend he had ever had for years now…even despite the fact that Jimbo ordered steaks buried in greasy fries and Samuel veggie burgers with salads on the side.
Two more different men in appearance, but both had something in common. An unbreakable bond of trust and friendship. If two men could love one another; it would be them.
But neither was orientated in that way sexually. They loved women.
Just that Jimbo, being the Big Texan that he was topping Samuel by several inches in height and much ore in muscle, and more rowdy and outspoken caught the attention of the ladies more readily than the quiet, unassuming Samuel, who was content to remain in the background.
But at this tense moment, neither were thinking much of any of the above things, their attention was sharply fixed on the hulking figure that was Spiderman crawling along the fifth story of the building they stood looking at from across the street.
“It’s not real.”
Samuel nodded. “Probably.”
“It killed two people.”
“That’s what the police said.”
“But it’s not real.”
Jimbo eyed Samuel sternly. “What the hell are we doing then trying to capture the thing then?”
“Just call it a hunch.”
“Hunches can get us killed.”
“Your yet is not mine. I still have a few mending broken bones from our last yet.”
Samuel chuckled. “Well then, let’s see if we can break our record?” He asked as he crossed the street for the fire escape. It ws the quickest way to head off the hulk crawling above.
Jimbo sighed. “Which one?”
Samuel didn’t reply He was already leaping up to grab the bottom rung of the fire escape.
It slammed down with a loud bang.
The hulking thing above looked down at the sound.
It made a growling sound.
“It’s unreal; how can it growl like that?”
Samuel sighed. “Just because it’s unreal; doeesn’t mean it can’t bite your nose off.”
Jimbo pulled a long gun from inside his jacket and aimed it upwards. “We’ll just see about that!”
