MISTER HOLMES, THE DEFINITIVE SHERLOCK HOLMES MOVIE!
I saw Mister Holmes last night at a local theater that specializes in foreign films.
I had been expecting a great performance from Mister McKellen, as he has never failed in that area to my mind, but the quality of the motion picture project was just tremendous.
Everything was good, from the locations to the script, to the acting...even of the least characters.
It was Hollywood at its best...except this wasn't a Hollywood production, but a BBC one, and they sure know how to show off their actors and stories.
The above scene is pivotal to everything that happens to Sherlock for the next thirty years of his life. So play close attention to it, it's important.
I found my time and money spent well rewarded with exceedingly pleasurable performances by Mister McKellen and especially the child actor who portrays a new friend to him.
And Sherlock's view of his portrayal by Doctor John Watson is comical to say the least as well as revealing!
If you haven't seen this movie. Do!
