Some of my fondest memories as a teenager was beings scrunched up in the corner of my father's office, reading the lastest pulp magazine while my father concentrated on selling insurance.
While some kids remember their fathers for baseball or football, mine revolve around fantasy and science fiction magazines with heroes such as Doc Savage, the Shadow, Flash Gordon, Buck Rogers and other greats of those times.
Enjoy this short trip through nostalgia and some great artwork.
Next installment of Sherlock Holmes novel "Things That Go Bump In The Night" will be posted within the next hour.
I just published Rocketman, "Between Two Worlds," to Smashwords and Amazon. Amazon title should be available in the next twenty-four hours. Smashwords is available now. 99cents for lots of reading pleasure.
Rocketman: Between Two Worlds.
I'll post the Amazon link once it becomes available.
The story has now officially become a time travel tale as well as a war story. I am going to track Harry as he flies to fight the Nazis in our World War Two and in the future World War Three as well. It should be a lot of fun and hopefully give us some great insights as to what might have happened had America not entered World War Two as it did and let the Nazis take over. That would have been nasty, nasty, nasty!
Have a great night, John.
New Rocketman story in the works. Now we get to see what would happen if the Nazis won the war against the Allies. Not a pretty sight.
Meanwhile, I just got back my second proof for my Journey to the Center of the Earth novel. Cover's still off, so I'll have to redo it again.
Have a great day tomorrow everyone!
Going to bed!
To celebrate my second Rocketman story which I will be publishing in the next few days, I have uploaded this old Republic Serial, King of the Rocket Men.
I remember as a child seeing this in the movie theater. It cost fifty cents. Popcorn was a quarter. Sodas were a dime. And candy bars a nickel.
I saw two serials, some news reels, and an A and B movie. The A movie is the better movies, but not always, and the B movies are low budget, throw 'em in your face movies like the newer Roger Corman movies and the Troma movies made on a shoestring budget.
All the kids in the theater were just thrilled to death seeing a man fly and wished they could be one of those guys too.
Another take on Rocketman I thought would be fun for everyone to see.
Rocketman is published now at both Amazon and Smashwords for 99cents.
A fantastic science fiction yarn that spins a new take on World War Two and shows what might have happened to the world if the Nazis had won, instead of the Allies. Full of suspense, drama, truly frightening consequences, a heartbreaking romance and a friendship that only wars can make. If you like the Marvel movies, then you're going to like this new hero.
RocketMan...here to serve!
